Surgical Management of Ascending Aortic Aneurysm

Abstract
|
|
|
We have experienced 8 cases of ascending aortic aneurysm with or aortic regurgitation. The patients ranged in age from 33yrs to (mean age 45.9Yrs). There were 4 male and 4 female. 4 patients had dissecting aortic aneurysm and 4 patient and
annuloaortic
ectasia with aortic regurgitation. Patients of dissecting aortic aneurysm underwent aneurysmectomy and complete replacement of ascending aorta. Patients of annuloaortic ectasia underwent aneurysmectomy and complete replacement of ascending aorta
and
valve with a composite graft and implantation of coronary ostia on the graft. There was one hospital death(Mortality rate 12.5%).
She died of congestive heart failure and cerebral infarction on the 13th postoperative day. All survivors showed improvement in NYHA functional class and discharged without specific complications.
